Transport allowance granted to an employee, who is blind [or deaf and dumb] or orthopedically handicapped with disability of lower extremities, to meet his expenditure for the purpose of commuting between the place of his residence and the place of his duty - Rs. 3,200. Others will not get any deduction.

Then what about the standard deduction which is recently added thing?

The standard deduction is available irrespective of the structure of salary. Basically the exemption available earlier i.e 1600 per month has been removed. Also exemption on medical allowance has been removed and a standard amount is now allowed as deduction.
