How to Get Your CA Foundation Exam Form?

The one and only place to find your CA Foundation Exam form is the official exam portal of The Institute of Chartered Accountants of India (ICAI):

You can fill the CA Foundation Exam form and appear for the exams considering you meet the eligibility criteria as given below:

  • You have appeared in your class 12 board examinations from the recognized board.
  • You are registered with ICAI for CA Foundation Exams 2021 – check out how to go about the CA Foundation registration process in detail. 

*You can get a provisional registration for CA Foundation Course after passing class 10, but you can’t appear for CA Foundation Exams without appearing in your 12th board exams.  

If you meet the above criteria, you can proceed with the CA Foundation Exam Form filling process as described in the next section. 

How to Fill the CA Foundation Exam Form?

CA Foundation form filling is a fully online process. It’s fairly straightforward. You just have to know the steps and have the required documents handy. We’ll talk about the necessary documents in the next section. For now, let’s dive right into the form filling process. 

Step 1: If you’re a first time CA Foundation student, create your login account on by clicking on “New User register Here”. For existing accounts, you just have to log in. 

Step 2: After successfully logging in, click on “Apply Now”.

Step 3: Select CA Foundation from the examination option and fill in the required details in the exam application form with your personal and educational details and also upload the declaration form

Step 4: Click on “save” and proceed to verify the details in the next page.

Step 5: Pay the CA Foundation Exam application fee using a payment mode of your choice. 

Step 6: After submitting the completed form, your CA Foundation  Application Form in PDF format will be generated. 

You should save a copy of the PDF file and that’s all for the CA Foundation form filling process. 

No photo - No signature ??

However, if your photograph and signature did not appear in your printed form, there’s a couple of extra steps for you. 

  • Take a printout of your application form and affix your photo (size - 3.5 X 4.5 cm) and signature in the space provided on the form. 
  • Get the form attested by a Chartered Accountant or a Gazetted Officer or Head of an Educational Institution.
  • Send the attested form to the ICAI exam department by speed post or registered post on or before the last date for exam form submission. For late submissions, a late fee of INR 600 is applicable additional to the exam fee.  
  • The address to which the form has to be sent is given below

Documents Required For CA Foundation Exam Form Filling

Here’s the list of documents required while filling the CA Foundation exam form:

  • Scanned copy of class 12 mark sheet
  • Scanned copy of class 10 mark sheet or birth certificate
  • Scanned copy of Proof of Special category (if any)
  • Scanned copy of passport size photograph

CA Foundation Exam Form 2021 Correction Window

The ICAI allows a correction window for students to rectify any error on their CA Foundation exam form. It’s a one-time facility and there’s no fee involved in the process. Once the correction window closes, you’ll lose the opportunity to fix the errors in your form. The dates for the upcoming Nov/Dec 2021 cycle haven't been announced yet.

As per ICAI’s announcement, the CA Foundation exam dates for Dec 2021 are:

  • Paper 4: 19th Dec 2021

Can I register for the CA foundation now for May 2022?

Yes, the registration for CA Foundation Exams for May 2022 is open now and will go on till 31st December 2021. 

What is the last date of CA Foundation registration for Nov 2021?

Due to COVID-19, the November exam dates for CA Foundation exams have been pushed to December 2021. The last date for registration in this session has closed. But you can register for the May 2022 session.

Are 3 months enough to prepare for the CA Foundation Exams? 

Yes, you can crack the CA Foundation exams with 3 months’ preparation. This is especially true for those who have passed class 12th in the commerce stream as they will be familiar with a lot of topics in the CA Foundation syllabus.
