What does history tell us?
CA Inter is one of the toughest exams and it takes a lot of hard work to crack it. The number of students that appear for the exam each year compared to the number of students who clear the exam each year has always been disproportionate.
For example, here is the CA inter pass percentage from July 2021 (new scheme) exam:

Look at the pass percentage of each group. They are very low. In Group I, 60335 candidates appeared but only 17563 have cleared it.
The big question is, why does it happen?
Well, there are a number of reasons why it happens but the most important reason is rote learning and memorizing.
We need to remember that when ICAI changed its course and the contents of the course in 2017, it understood that practical application of concepts is more important than theoretical memorization.
The entire purpose of a Chartered Accountant is to help a firm or a company in effectively navigating through its finances. It is a critical job and it needs practical & analytical thinking. In real-time, if a CA does possess these qualities, it can drastically affect the company in many ways. Also, a CA who is not equipped with the right skills and knowledge will shatter right at the beginning of a challenge.
That’s why ICAI has introduced a more practical approach to the CA course and exams. Of course, there are many CA training institutes and CA Faculty who are yet to adapt to the new system and it takes time for old practices to change.
However, things are slowly changing with training institutes across the country adopting more practical ways of teaching. In fact, at Indigo Learn, we understood the need for practical and visual training for CA inter exams right from the beginning. So, we have always concentrated on making our courses as interactive and realistic as possible. It is the reason behind the success of our students.
Now, getting back to CA inter pass percentage, the first thing to do is to aim at equipping yourself with all the knowledge needed to get the minimum pass marks. Once you are confident that you have all the knowledge necessary to do so, you can then move on to studying for higher marks.

As you can see, the overall aggregate to clear your CA inter is 50%. So, you should start concentrating on achieving this percentage. Like we mentioned before, try to understand each concept and learn it, instead of just memorizing it.
A lot of students often get dissuaded by the overwhelming negativity surrounding the pass percentage. From peers to neighbors, to faculty, and even parents, at times, make the entire process much harder for the students by not encouraging them the right way.
If you are stressed out about the upcoming CA inter exam then let us tell you that it is not an impossible task. In fact, some of the best All India Rankers (AIRs) have also had difficulty but they have aced it because they have worked very hard to achieve these ranks.
You should also concentrate on working hard and we’re pretty sure you will ace your exams.
To check your ICAI CA Intermediate results, you should do the following
For the July 2021 exams, results were announced on September 19th. Likewise, results will usually be declared at least 2 months after the exams are over. ICAI announces the result date at least a month before the eventual day.
Now let’s look at the pass percentages from the previous years.
